County Free Dump Week Extended to Two Weeks 9/7/19 to 9/21/19
The City has received numerous inquiries as to whether it will be conducting a city wide pickup after the passage of Hurricane Dorian. THERE IS NO CITY WIDE PICKUP SCHEDULED OR PLANNED AFTER THIS HURRICANE EVENT. The County will be extending its free dump week at the landfill from one week to two weeks to allow county residents an extended disposal option. Hurricane debris, damaged items, or other disposable items can be dropped off free beginning Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Brunswick County Landfill in Bolivia.
The free dump week will extend through Saturday, Sept. 21. All materials can be disposed of at the landfill except hazardous waste during the free dump week.
Designated areas are set aside for metal, tires, electronics, latex paint, and yard debris, according to a county press release Friday. Proof of Brunswick County residency or property ownership is required to participate in the two-week free dump period.
The Brunswick County Landfill is located at 172 Landfill Road in Bolivia. Its hours of operation:
Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
