For immediate release:
Crews are currently operating at a large scale woods fire. This fire began in the area on W. Boiling Spring Rd/ Sunset Rd. Crews were met with heavy fire and wind that was pushing. Assistance was immediately requested from nearby mutual aid companies as well as NC Forestry Service.
Fire behavior kept Crews busy while it kept jumping lines and threatening structures. Though there were outbuildings lost, no homes were lost as of this posting. There were several firefighters treated on scene for smoke/heat related illness.
