The City of Boiling Spring Lakes has begun the process of updating its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (LUP). The current LUP, which can be viewed here, was adopted in 2017 and serves as a blueprint for growth and development. A Comprehensive LUP is a tool used to help guide growth, redevelopment, land use policy, resource decisions, and infrastructure investment. The process of updating the LUP will include research, analysis, and opportunities for residents to provide direction on future priorities through surveys, stakeholder meetings, and public meetings.
The update process began last month with a presentation to the Planning Board and a community survey. We are happy to announce we've received more than 300 survey responses! Extensive public participation is a key component of any planning process, and we want to hear from you throughout the development of this Comprehensive LUP. Meeting details will be announced as they are scheduled, and project materials will be posted as they are developed.
