Community Center Assistant
Nature of Work
Under supervision of the Community Center Manager and/or Parks & Recreation Director this position is responsible for front desk customer service, set up and break down for recreational programs, activities, meetings and special events. Responsible for cleaning duties throughout the community center.
Examples of Duties
Greeting and sign in all community center participants. Process monies from program and fitness room membership dues. Keep appropriate income log and cash register receipt daily totals. Daily cleaning duties of entire facility. Assist with programs as necessary. Employee is subject to hazards in parks and recreation including work in both inside and outside environments and in extreme temperatures and noises. Duties may also expose the employee to human bodily fluids and the work as covered by OSHA requirements and bloodborne pathogens.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from High School, at least one year clerical experience in an office setting, as well as experience in dealing and working with the public. Some supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
Special Requirements: Valid NC Driver's License. Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check required. Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and/or the ability to gain prior to start date. Varying Work Schedule – Early Mornings, Nights & Weekends Required.
Salary: $9.10 - $9.38 DOQ
