Located in beautiful Brunswick County, North Carolina the City of Boiling Spring Lakes is seeking an experienced individual to organize and supervise adult and senior adult recreation programs, activities and special events sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Department.
Work includes supervisory responsibilities over participants as well as paid and volunteer staff. The continuation and growth of adult and senior adult recreational, social, environmental and educational programs. Production of monthly program calendars, social media, advertising and public relations. Input into program and yearly budgets, program policy & procedure development. Volunteer recruitment, training and evaluation.
Work requires the ability to determine community recreation needs and develop programs to meet those needs. The ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing. Strong conflict resolution skills and a true desire to improve the lives of local residents and visitors. Regularly scheduled night and weekend work required.
Desired education and experience - Graduation from a four year college or university with a degree in recreation management or related field, OR five years or more years of experience within the field of parks and recreation. Strong office and customer service skills preferred. Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
Hiring Salary $31,574 with a generous benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, vacation & sick leave, enrollment with the NC Retirement System & 401K plan.
